Castletown (Louth)
This fine mouth-puller was once on the castle wall,
but is now on the wall of a sunken tennis court in front of the castle which
is now a convent.
A photo taken nearly thirty years earlier, before re-cementing of the tennis-court
wall.
Not far away was another similar mouthpuller at:
"Carntown Castle near the town of Carntown (Baile Chairnigh) in Co.
Louth.
Woodcut by Edmund Evans (1826-1905) after George Victor Du Noyer (1817-1869)."
Neither castle nor mouth-puller (corbel) survive.
