Modena Cathedral - archivolt on South front

Is it some kind of hermaphrodite like this other figure from the cathedral ?

Or is it a bicephalic Janus figure
representing January,
the old man toiling away on the right being December ?

It might represent the happy heavenly union of the physical with the spiritual being or 'body',
compared with the labour of the physical body in the fields.
